Mercury was appointed as The Springs Shopping Centre’s marketing and PR agency in 2015 following a competitive national tender.
The Derbyshire-based shopping centre was initially looking for an agency to capitalise on its 30th anniversary year in 2015 through a series of creative, footfall-driving events.
Since then, we have gone on to establish campaigns which have driven thousands to the Buxton shopping centre. One popular fixture is the Back to School fair, which has increased footfall in the centre each year by 20% and significantly driven sales and footfall to participating retailers.
The launch of Buxton’s first ever Student Lock-In also saw more than 600 students visit the centre over a three hour period. The pioneering initiative has been heralded by retailers and students alike as a major success and will continue to be a permanent fixture in the Springs’ event calendar. This event was established after the creation of a strong relationship with the University of Derby, which has a campus in the town.
